Quem é super fã da polêmica série, já sabe que Thirteen Reasons Why é um romance do escritor Jay Asher, publicado em 2007. O livro alcançou o primeiro luar no New York Times bestseller em julho de 2011. No Brasil, foi lançado com o título Os Treze Porquês. Há algumas diferenças entre o livro e a série, como sempre acontece. Uma delas é que o poema que o Ryan Shaver publica no Lost-N-Found Gazette na série é diferente do poema do livro. Aqui temos trechos do poema da Sarah Kay, lido pela personagem Hannah, na série.
